LARGER HURDLES-BIG GOD

Where do we even begin......the past few weeks have been a whirl wind with work, training, and getting closer to Judah arriving.    The last week has been very stressful and really hasn't let up yet.     We are so close to Judah arriving, which also means what has been pretty smooth sailing from the get go minus a few minor hurdles we have come this far pretty good! (that last sentence was super long and probably not punctuated properly-yes I look at those things :D )  Anyways, last week we got another hurdle.   This hurdle is higher than our previous ones.  It has thrown stress levels a bit higher as well with everything combined coming closer to his due date.
We have unexpected attorney fees we did not really know about for this specific part of our adoption journey.     Kyle and I thought the rest of this would be pretty smooth sailing, and this hurdle has us shuffling things around financially.
It is hard writing some of these posts about fundraising and financing when all I want to discuss is how crazy excited we are to tell people the story of Judah and this wonderful woman that will be bringing him into this world.    We have gotten to know her some; she is very open and honest, friendly, super funny, laughing often, pretty sure she is smiling often too.   Even though we have not yet met face to face we know she is beautiful inside and out and we are blessed to even know her.
Please pray for Kyle and I over this next week as we try and tackle getting over this hurdle.    Pray for peace and for funds to roll in, this week is very vital for finances.  Please pray with us, and if you know people who are willing and able to give, discuss our situation with them and see if they would be willing to help us out financially and prayerfully!

Love you all!

Just when you think it's done...

What's up!!
We are getting ready for the big day which is approaching fast!   We are trying to get all our ducks in a row and about the only ducks I don't have lined up are for my work.   Finding a temp person can be hard for only 9 weeks at my job.
Kyle and I had the privilege to talk to Judah's birth mom today.   We have been able to talk to her as often as we like and have been getting to know her over the last 6 days; everything from false labor pains to just shooting the breeze.  She is very sweet, easy going, and very funny.    We are praying for open doors to pray for her.    How amazing it would be to see Judah's birth mom ask Jesus to be Lord of her life!

Hadley, Kyle's niece, asked me this past Sunday "When will Judah's tummy mommy have him?" And I was able to say it's only a few weeks away!!    Needless to say the whole family is thrilled.
My mom came up to see us 2 weeks ago and is leaving the end of June.   She said she wanted to get "Micale time" before the baby came.  So now after our little man arrives home she will end up coming back  sometime in August.       Our home is looking like a baby is coming that's for sure.   Bottles, bassinets, pack n play, and swing.  But I have a feeling this little boy of ours will be in our arms way more often, which makes me so happy and will help us bond since we are the new voices he hasn't heard for the past 8-9 months.

Just when you think fees and paperwork is at completion in an adoption it seems there is always more :) But you just gotta roll with it.   We are needing more funds to cover the extra expenses that will incur for post placement fees and attorney fees.   We are at crunch time yet again and I think God works pretty awesome in those moments.    We are looking for people that are able and willing to donate money that will go towards this.    These fees have to be paid in order to bring Judah home and finalize our adoption.    We are so close to getting these funds, but we are still short.     If you can give please contact us via phone or facebook or even comment on this post.   We would be so grateful for whatever amount you are able to give.     These funds will need to be raised by July 1st.  Which is only 2 weeks away folks!     Please pray and allow the Holy Spirit to direct you on what you feel led to give.   The money that comes in will go to our puzzle pieces.  Will post a pic later, but Kyle and I will be beginning to put the puzzle together.  Remember we can't finish the puzzle till all the pieces have been bought.   ($10 a piece-and we have enough for you!)

Please continue to pray as we raise these funds in such a short time.   God has been good and we know He is in this whole Journey.   We have been blessed by many.     We look forward to being able to show you our Judah man soon!

We love you guys and thank you so much for your love and support through this journey and for helping us finish the journey of bringing Judah back home.  We appreciate you and all that you've done and all that is still to come.

Blessings to you

We've come thus far...& more to come!

Hello Everybody!
Where to begin?   Our garage sale was a success!  Did we sell everything, no, but the majority of it  we did.  We have been accumulating baby items:)
Judah has a place to sleep on each floor now!  We got our stroller travel system the other day too! This is happening man!
We have been blessed by so many people, too many to name here.  We are so grateful for you guys!
Our Judah is gonna be here soon and we are thrilled- excited-terrified-ready-not ready-but more ready.
Judah has been a thought and passion in our minds for years now.  We began to really   start praying for him in 2012.  And praying  for his mom for protection and to keep her safe and to keep Judah safe from harm.   January of 2013 we thought we'd look at starting into the adoption journey.   Our first ever application was post marked to Gods Children Adoption Agency. (Which mind you, they are amazing) and 4 days later Lindsey called to set up our first home study! She was in our home 7 days after mailing our application out.   Right then and there Kyle and I knew that this just might go fast and not a year long process thing that we had in mind.  Our home study was completed April 25th.  And we prayed that the baby emails we received, we would both be at peace about moving forward on.  We received 5 e-mails and nothing clicked to move ahead on, which we then turned those e-mails into prayers for those moms and babies.
And then..... May1st.   Kyle and I received an email about a mom pregnant with a boy and something inside Kyle and I got a little excited.  Needless to say our year long adoption process, which we thought would happen, was blown out of the water.
God truly had something good in store.
I will stop for now and give you more details  when I can.
Please consider purchasing one ofJudah's  puzzle pieces for his room.
We still have $300 pieces left.
Maybe you know of other's that may want to help.   The puzzle pieces are $10 a piece and we would love for friends and family and extended friends and family to share in a small piece of Judah's life.

Judah's Journey Home

Hey everybody!
Kyle and I have been in a whirlwind for about a week with this fast forward motion of Judah's Journey.     We are truly leaning on the One who provides for all our needs.   Truly thankful that we can cast every care upon the Lord because He truly cares for us!   In every situation He cares.
I will say that our God has not brought us this far to fail us, but to go above and beyond our imaginations.
Kyle and I are seeing His hand at work a lot during this last week, and we are so grateful. Not just in our adoption journey, but also in Kyle's business.
Thankful that we serve a God who is always near, He hears our cries and answers them.

Do we have our funds raised?  No, but still pressing ahead and praying for favor.  We still are in need of  a large chunk of money to come in by June 15th. Let's just say about $16,000 would be perfect, not above and beyond, but perfect.  God's got the whole world in His hands.

Things coming up would be MAY 23, MAY 24, MAY 25.  These are the dates of our adoption fundraiser/bake sale fundraiser.    Please come out and support our Journey of bringing Judah home!   Tons of items!  dining room tables, a love seat, gun cabinet...and more larger pieces.  Check out the ad on www.bismanonline.com under the rummage sale section.

We still have pieces of our puzzle available as well!   Remember our puzzle pieces are $10 a piece and once the puzzle pieces are all bought up we will put it together and this will actually be framed with all of the families names on the pieces they have bought and be hung in Judah's bedroom.
If you would like to make a donation you can use our "donate" button directly on the blog or you can contact me via FB or mail us a check. Kyle and Micale Hillerud

Help us out by getting the word out and maybe your friends and relatives might be interested in making a donation and being a part of bringing in our Judah to make us 3.

Judah means praise and thanks.  It is interesting that through this whole process it has had it's ups and downs, twists and turns, but never slowing, only accelerating.   And it really has been a journey of Praise and Thanks as well as faith, and total trust in God.

Love you all,
Micale

Home studies done!!

Well folks, our last home study is done. Which means Kyle and I have a few things on our end to tend to, paperwork side of course, and our case worker is just finishing up our compilation of info called a "home study" :)
We truly are on to the next step of waiting for Judah's birth mom to come into the picture. We've been praying for her and Judah and that when she reads our profile book she would know as well as Kyle and myself would know that this is a good match.
There are more steps to it then just that of course, but just getting the point of the matter out there.
Please join with us in praying for a divine knowing in our hearts on where to step forward and pursue an interest in just the right birth mom and baby God has placed for us. God truly does have the right match for us and we are so excited to see it come to pass.
Kyle's niece Hadley has been with us these 2 days and she asks me,"when will baby Judah be here?" Answer: ???? Every situation being different. She is ready to see her cousin though this I know!
Since there is always a possibility of timing being quick, we are in need of a financial push! We've received some emails on different fees due at the time of placement of our new little man. Those fees from what we have currently seen, range from $24,000-$29,000.
So we really are wanting to get the word out about our puzzle fundraiser-$10/piece(we have many pieces left), we are also having a garage sale in June.
So if you have any larger items that you think would sell please let us know and we could look at getting those items from you. (Please note:We are not a non profit so we do not offer receipts for donations).
If there are any other fundraising ideas that went well for you let me know in the comments below.
We also have our donate think through PayPal as well as a store front link for our "Just Love Coffee" store. Coffee beans, shirts, thermos cups are just a few items that are on there. Kyle and I just ordered our first bag of coffee and we are excited to try it!
We love all of you for what you have done for us already! You have blessed us greatly and pray blessings back upon you.
Love you much,
Kyle and Micale

Puzzle Puzzle Puzzle

March is the month to get our next homestudy meeting!   I'm excited to get this next step completed and on to the next huge step of getting placed with our son.   Kyle and I have been working on our checklists of things that need to get done to complete our homestudy.  You have to copy this, copy that, attach this, go to the doctor....But it's worth it.
I took advantage of our Saturday by finishing up our profile book and getting that ready for print.    Kyle took advantage of our Saturday by heading out with a friend to do some fishing today!    I am hoping he brings back some supper  :)    It's those moments that I think some day, he will take our boy out and do some fishing, do some golfing, biking, and whatever else comes into our heads that day.

We are super excited to start our puzzle fundraiser!   You might have noticed in our last post the sneak peak of our puzzle fundraiser, but it has officially begun NOW!
Here is how the puzzle fundraiser works my friends.  This puzzle is a custom puzzle Kyle and I had made.   We fell in love with this phrase and it applies to everybody!   There are 513 pieces in the puzzle.   How it works is the pieces of the puzzle sell for $10 a piece.   When the piece sells, Kyle and I write the name of the family who bought the piece on the back of that piece or multiple pieces if a family say has bought 5 pieces of the puzzle.  You can buy 1 up to however many you'd like.   Once the pieces are all bought up we then will frame it and hang it in our home.    Our son can look on the back and see then all the families that took part in getting this puzzle complete and hopefully take it with him when he is ready to head out of the home.
The funds from this fundraiser will be going to pay for our placement fee.    Many people have looked at the price of adoption on different websites and it ranges from $15,000 up to $25,000 for a placement.  That is a wide gap in price and a huge amount, but my God shall supply all our needs.

How do you buy the piece?  Glad you asked :)
In the comments section of this post, please comment the amount you would like to purchase.
How do I get you our donation?  Well great question!  Use our donate button on the bottom of the blog page to donate using debit card or credit card.   We then will place the name on the back of the piece of the puzzle!    If you are in town and want to just bring it to us that's ok too.   If you are in Iowa and would like to just bring to my sisters, you could do that as well and she can get it into our adoption account too.    Please remember to comment on this blog post the amount of pieces desired.

Kyle and I want to say thank-you thank-you thank-you to all the people who have donated thus far!  We truly feel blessed and humbled by all you have done for us.   We love you guys and are praying for increase upon you, Blessings in your home above and behind you could ever imagine.
Be Blessed  my friends!

He's gonna be a good one

Well we have had our first meeting for the homestudy, and it was actually fun, relaxing, nothing to worry about.     More papers came with it, but we are working away on getting stuff signed and put together to finish this homestudy process.
Kyle and I, since we decided on adopting, have been praying for Judah and for his birth mom and dad.    Let me tell you it is really strange praying about that, but at the same time we feel a connection being made and we know that God has Judah.  Whether putting him together even now in his mother's womb or going through Judah's destiny and saying, oh this is gonna be a good one!  That is my mind going off, but you have to know that God knows us front to back and each time I think He says, oh she/he's gonna be a good one!
We pray that Judah will be an incredible lover of God and a worshipper.    That he will be outgoing in showing the love of the Father to others.       We pray that his birth parents that they would come to know the love of Jesus in their lives if they don't already know.     That God would keep them safe from harm and that no evil will befall them as it says in the Word.
I sit in the mornings and think of how different our days will be.  It brings a smile to my face daily.
We had a friend tell us that everytime she puts money in to "Judah's Journey" jar that she prays for him as well.     And that she knows that though her part may be small in his journey, she knows that she is still a part of it all.   And we want people to  know that every donation, every piece of change stuck aside is all apart of bringing a son into a home.  It truly is you helping an orphan come into a Christ centered home and helping an orphan come to the knowledge of Jesus Christ.    It is about taking a son that a mother knows she can't fully care for on her own and she makes an extremely hard decision to place her son up for adoption knowing that a couple will be willing and able to give him a life that she cannot.

We are a ways off in having our funds raised for this full adoption journey.     We ask that you would continue to pray for us and if you are able to make a financial blessing towards Judah coming home we would be forever grateful.

To donate you can either:

- use the "Donate" button on the bottom of our blog.  It is all secure and done through paypal.   You are not required to have a paypal account to donate.  Once you click on the donate button you can donate through your paypal account and there is also a spot if you do not have a paypal account you can still donate.  You can use your debit card or credit card.

-another option is to mail Kyle and I a check directly, we have a seperate account set up specifically for our adoption and all our funds go there. If we are friends on Facebook send us a message and we can e-mail you our address.  Our you can comment on the post with your e-mail address and I can e-mail you our address.

Thanks so much for helping Kyle and I become a family of 3!    Love you guys!

Here is a sneak peak at our puzzle fundraiser we will be doing soon!  I will keep you posted!

ONE STEP CLOSER

What has transpired since Kyle's last post in January?   Many normal everyday things of course, but 1 big thing would be we sent in our Application on Feb. 1st.    1 month earlier than what we had planned.     Kyle and I were thinking it will be a full week before they receive the application then they have to get our references back and go from there to the homestudy.  Well.....application was received on Tuesday Feb. 5th and then Friday we get the e-mail stating they are coming to town on Tuesday the 12th and want to meet us.  Me..thinking oh they just want to meet us...no....Let's meet at 2 at your home for your home study.
OH......!  [heart racing]    Talk about acceleration!       Kyle and I have had a lot of stuff going on with the business and such so we were like...should we wait?...we never thought it was gonna happen that fast, but just as Kyle said on a facebook post, "You got to ride the wave or stand on the side and watch."    So, here we are beginning to ride the wave!!!
God has a way of accelerating things that normally are not that fast.   2013 will be an accelerated year. It won't be in the aspect of going by quickly, but things you've been waiting for and praying for will come accelerated to you.
I am a person that has everything lined up. I need to do this by this point and that by that point.   But God is the one in control.  It might not happen on how I have it scheduled or the timeline I have planned out, but know that HE will take care of all things in HIS timing for sure.
God is good!!

The best adoption ever...

Well, so here is my first entry, Micale has been doing all the writing so far.  The best adoption ever happened the day I gave my life to Jesus.  The bible says we are adopted sons and daughters of God and in the spirit of adoption we cry out. "Abba Father".  One of the greatest parts of this adoption is that my heritage completely changed that day.  I was taken out of the kingdom of darkness and put into the kingdom of light.  I believe this takes place also when we adopt.  Their heritage changes.  They are still who they are, but their birthright is now different.  One can come from a background of nothing and be adopted into a family of greatness.  The bible tells us that religion that is perfect is to, "look after widows, orphans and those in need."  When we do for the least of these we do unto Jesus himself.  Adoption is more than what most people understand today, it is perfect in the eyes of Jesus.  I believe every person who calls themselves a christian has on obligation to adopt or help in the care of orphans, which ever.  God is the greatest example of all, He adopted us into his family, Jesus gave up His birthright so that we could walk in it instead of our original birthright which was darkness.  Kyle

Patience and timing

I am a dreamer.   And sometimes lately it is all I can think about of adopting this little man that we haven't  even been matched with yet.  Grandma's and Grandpa and Aunt's and Uncle's are all excited as well, which makes me even more anxious.    Papa and Grandma Hillerud talk about moving to Bismarck to help out with daycare even!    There is a house for sale down the street and they want it, so Judah can come to grandma's just a few houses down.    I dream about having company on my days off when Kyle is off working.  I am just itching to get this paperwork done and sent in!!
I have to keep telling myself, timing is everything.  Currently we are waiting on Kyle's business taxes to get done as well as reaching our first goal of $2000 by beginning of March.   That goal will be used for our homestudy fee after our app is turned in.
I have the faith in God and the support of our jars we have given out that it can happen!    While in Iowa we gave out 12, one got mailed to another town in Iowa, 1 mailed to Oklahoma, and when we arrived back home the rest of them went out as well.  I have made up more and all have been called for already!   So if you have a "Judah's Journey" jar and it's filled up, cash in by the end of February and donate those proceeds through the link at the bottom of this blog.  No paypal account is needed if you do not have one.  Or if you feel more comfortable mailing a check you can do that too.

Currently we are working on a custom puzzle for a fundraiser!   Will be selling the pieces of the puzzle and if you buy a piece or more than one piece, the family name will go on the back of the pieces.  In the end we will get it framed and hung in Judah's room.    :)

Kyle and I just did a pre-adoption photo shoot too, it was very cold that day but well worth the great photos we got!

These are only a couple of them.  The rest are on our facebook page.
Read this on pinterest the other day about adoption and I just love it:
"Not flesh of my flesh or bone of my bone, but heart of my heart and soul of my soul"

Ephesians 1:4-5- For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight.  In love He predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with His pleasure and will.
-I just was thinking.....Judah gets to be adopted 2 times!  How cool is that? :)  He's pretty special already.
